Protecting our staff and patients remains our top priority at Downtown Toronto Doctors.
Due to the evolving situation with novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and lack of essential personal protective equipment to safely assess patients, we will be temporarily moving to a virtual care platform for all appointments. You can continue to reach us through phone or email as per usual. Non-urgent appointments may be postponed until a later date.
We advise all patients to stay home where possible, practice social distancing and maintain good hand hygiene. It is up to us collectively to help “flatten the curve” of transmission and avoid overwhelming our already taxed health care system.
Patients experiencing upper respiratory or flu-like symptoms (i.e. fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sneezing, runny nose, and sore throat) should contact the clinic by phone or email to arrange a virtual assessment by your physician. DO NOT COME INTO THE CLINIC if you are experiencing any of these symptoms. Your physician will contact you and decide on the appropriate course of action on a case-by-case basis.
If you require urgent medical care, please call 911 or proceed to your nearest emergency department, taking care to follow all infection control protocols in place at your local hospital. We have provided on our website access to additional resources including a self-assessment tool to determine if you should be tested for COVID-19, locations of designated COVID-19 testing sites and informational handouts. We encourage all patients to review these and also check the Health Canada and Toronto Public Health websites for up-to-date information.
Please call the after hours line before proceeding to any after hours clinics.
We will continue monitoring the situation closely and provide updates. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
